GOLD-FILLED is considered heirloom quality and can last many years with proper cleaning and care. Gold-FILLED is NOT gold-plated or gold dipped vermeil jewelry which can peel or chip off over time with wear. Gold-filled metal is essentially a gold tube filled with an inner core metal such as brass and has been mechanically bonded with very high heat. It will NOT chip or flake off which can happen with gold-plated metals. There is over 100 times more gold in gold-filled jewelry than the very thin coat of paint in gold-plated or vermeil jewelry.

STERLING SILVER will naturally tarnish with moisture and elements. The best way to keep sterling silver jewelry clean is to keep wearing them, a lot! And when you are not wearing them, keep them sealed in an airtight bag in a dry locations. You can also use polishing cloth or sterling silver cleaning solutions/creams to keep them clean* and shiny. *I love Jewel Brite cleaning products that are non-toxic, gentle and effective cleaning agents which can be used with gemstone as well.
